[GeoStL] Re: gps program to use with new ETREX GEKO 201

Pntball,

EasyGPS (or ExpertGPS, which cost $50) is your best bet since it interfaces
directly with gc.com. Not having a geko, there may be something different with
it, so look at the manual. With the eTrex's, simply plug the GPS cable into the
serial port and go to preferences and select which com port and GPS you're
using. If you've already downloaded the WP's into EasyGPS from GC, then select
GPS from the menu and "send WP to GPS".

Subject: [GeoStL] gps program to use with new ETREX GEKO 201

hey i just bought a new geko 201 and i love it,it even has WAAS but now i
need to load the waypoints to it.which program is the best and easiest to use
when downloading waypoints from gc.com.i have easygps downloaded but do not
know how to use it or transfer information to and from the unit.and just so you
know before you downgrade my unit,it may be designed to look like a kids toy
but it is a very powerful unit.great satallite hits and when WAAS kicks in my
accuricy drops to less than 10 foot.now if garmin would just throw in the
necklanyard and connector for free instead of 23 dollars.but you get what you
payed for, thanks for the help on this issue.pntball
