We have one; it was the first one we bought about 5 years ago. I don't know
if there have been any changes made since then. We liked it well enough but
compared to the 60CSX it's REALLY slow to download maps and caches to. We
would be on the road, tell it to upload maps and then go have lunch while it
loaded. Seriously, it's slow. The 60 is split second download time with
about 8 times the memory. The first few times we sent info from the laptop
to the 60 we sent it twice thinking, "surely, that wasn't IT was it?"
Also, I never really cared for the screen on the Rino; it's really small.
The 60 screen is much better, although I'm not sure it's brightness is as
good as the Rino. We do like the built in radio/walkie talkie on the Rino
though and we use that a lot. Very nice to not have to take one more "thing"
into the woods.
I would definitely put the two side-by-side and compare the screens -- that
would be deal breaker or maker for my blind self these days lol.
Also, I don't know if the notes/clues upload to the Rino like they do to
the 60's. I remember having to put in a few clues here and there so I
wouldn't lose them.
I've just glanced at the Garmin site and it doesn't look like there's been
any upgrades to the Rino 110 and 120. Says it has 8 mb memory.
It looks like there's new one 530HCx that looks "improved" with routing
ability and base maps and beefed up radio. The screen still looks a bit
small. But it does say it has "high speed" upload. That would be a plus over
the 110/120.
If you want to try the "old" Rino (so you know what you probably won't want
to buy) you're welcome to borrow ours if you like. I'd have to dig up the
cords and stuff-- they're here somewhere lol. We could get it to you this
weekend if you think you'd like to try it.
I just read the email form Jim. If he's headed your way and you want to see
the Rino, I could hand it off to him.

That's the one everyone likes and has. I don't know of anyone who has a
Rino.

I'd say that you should go with the tried and true
60CSx...very fine unit.

Bad news one of my LPNs fell and has a bad leg

Good news...I am doing extra hours, making extra $$$
and I am getting a new GPS!
I know a bunch of you have a Garmin that you really
like. Which one is it? I thought it might be a Rino.
If so which one and where can I get it. None of our
stores down here have it in stock. Any other
suggestions on one I should get? Can't wait to get a
new one and start doing some paperless caching!
