[GeoStL] Re: Where's all the chatter - GeoWoodstock

I won't be able to attend the KC picnic, but I will be at the SLAGA Summer
picnic.

I'm really thinking about going to GW6. The cache page says that it's only one
day. Is that correct? I assume there are non-official events before and
after. If possible, could you give me a quick rundown of your itinerary when
you went to GW5?

My thought is to drive to the event, which can be done in two days, but will
take three days to account for caching. Then I'll drive back, but through a
southern route -- this will allow caching in different states on the way back.

The Geowoodstock events are a blast, Sarah & I have been to the last 2 and
had a great time at each. Lots of caches to be found, you'll run into many
cachers around town, and the picnic is great. There were several other events
to attend around the area, NC had ones every night. There are organized cache
runs set up, for NC there was a bookmark list of 100 or so caches that could be
done in a day. We went with Amanda (BajaClan), Happy Kraut & Brawny Bear, and a
bunch of Amanda's friends from Northern Virginia on a fun cache run on
Saturday, We got 61 for the day, they got around 75. The picnic was fantastic,
packed with cachers, vendors, and families from all over the world. We met some
cachers from Sweden, and Germany. I saw Peoria Bill, OzGuff, Cheerful78, and
several others I have heard of before, and was glad to finally meet. Goshhawk &
Hid Pro Quo were there too. If you can attend next year's GW, or any other
large cache event, do it, the Kansas City summer picnic is coming up, and is
also a lot of fun.

  Jim
