Keep in mind that a newbie will have a ton of caches close to home.
Therefore, they don't have to travel at all to have fun!

Unfortunately, with gas at or above $3.00 a gallon, my
caching habits are going to get a lot more expensive. I
agree that caching is cheap compared to a lot of other vices
(oops, hobbies) I have/had.
