I'll pass the artwork thing off to our art dept on Monday and see what
they can come up with. After all, that's what we pay them for !! All of
our art is done on Macs (I use one at home also :)) so they have the
vector art programs (Freehand, Photoshop, etc.). As soon as I get
something, I will pass it along on the list to get everyone's opinion.
I still think we need to go with an embroidered design much
classier?is that a word?, and can be ordered one at a time if need be
so if someone wanted something they could go on the website and order
based on the garments in the catalog. I also have access to high-end
clothing such as Nike, Columbia Sportswear, Cutter and Buck, but it is
VERY expensive.

Dru,

I just knew i read it someplace. If at all possible, when feasible, i
would like to do business with folks in the group. Trying to get 125
or so folks to agree on one thing is a bit like trying to herd cats
:-) but we can try.

You may be able to help with a graphics problem or could suggest an
alternative. The green arch SLAGA logo that RGS made and that we are
using didn't translate well to objects when printed from cafepress.
the image looked "blocky". I think because it is saved as a bitmap
image rather than a vector graphics type image and didn't take well to
being enlarged.

Is there a was you easily convert the image to be usable or would you
recommend something else? I have an emblem that could go on a jacket
or shirt but it is different from the arch logo.
Something like the attached file ? Pretty much, i am deferring to
you professional opinion.

thanks for your assistance,

that would be me. my family owns the largest screen printing and
embroidery company between st louis and memphis. we are in cape
girardeau. website is ONE person decide what you would be interested
in and I will work up some pricing. in this industry there are a lot
of lowball prices but you get what you pay for. many of these
web-based companies sell very cheaply made items with sublimation
prints rather than a direct screenprint. much less attractive and not
near as durable. I would be more inclined to do some generic SLAGA
embroidered items rather than something oriented towards the picnic.

I think where ever we can get the best price for things is good.
Cafe Press is convenient with good products but *not* the cheapest
around for stuff. RGS found a good local source for hats in Vally
Park. All options are good.

I have been involved with "group buys" for various things in the
past and I personally think it didnt work well for me because when
i decide i want something I am to impatient to wait, administering
the "buy" is a headache ect. BUT if someone is willing to put up
with all those hassels, and the funds go back to the SLAGA treasury,
I am all for it. I dont necessarily think having multiple outlets
is a bad thing. If something happens to one source, we still have
the others.

I though i read here someplace that one of us has or works at a
silkscreening company. That might be a good option also!
