I have used the Panera wi-fi and I have been able to both send and recieve messages via POP3/SMTP. Maybe SBC's server is down, or it may not allow connections from that particular IP address for spam reasons. I'd give it another try, or go to: http://sbc.yahoo.com and enter the complete e-mail address (whatever@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) and your password. Then login. That should do the trick. Hope that helps! ~Chris ----- Original Message ----- From: GC-RGS To: GC-maillist Sent: Tuesday, February 10, 2004 8:59 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Sorta NGR-Bread Co. Wi-Fi Has anyone tried using The Bread Co. (Panera) wireless connection with their laptop? If so, can you send email? I can connect, surf, get email from my POP servers, but cannot send email if pointing to my SBC SMTP mail server as my default. This makes sense because of all the spam that could be sent that way. Is there a special SMTP server we should point to when using Panera Wi-Fi or is it we just can't send email with our mail client. I guess using a hotmail acct. with the browser is the only way around the problem? Rich
