That's *probably* the culprit. If memory serves, Palms of that era came =
with
serial cable connectors. If the USB one you have was designed to connect =
to
a Garmin gps, it's likely dedicated to that purpose and not likely to be
suitable for synching to the pc.=20
I would also guess you could do 'paperless' caching with the V. Some
destructions for that can be found at.......

But the V also only came with 2mb of memory and no expansion slot as I
recall, so it's not likely you could do *too* much in the way of mapping
type stuff. Though Palms have historically been pretty efficient memory
users, maps generally are rather large space consumers, so you might be =
able
to get a couple on there, but that's probably about it.
But take all the above with a grain of salt as I moved away from the =
Palm
platform about the time the Palm V was their biggest seller. If you want =
to
spend the time reading some old threads, search on geocaching.com forums =
for
'Palm V'...that will turn up quite a number of results.
