[GeoStL] Re: Semi NGR; Palm V and XP

-
Nancy,

I don't have a Palm V but here's a link for an adaptor and the drivers for
XP.

http://shop.brando.com.hk/p5usbsynccharger.php

I'm not recommending that site; just showing you an adaptor.

Here's another link that allows you to sync using the IR port (if you have
one.

http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=886,E=0000000000096157636,K=281,Sxi=19,useTemplate=Case.tem,CASE=1941

And finally from the Palm site; it says it works with XP but make sure you
have the latest version of Hotsync (4.1.4)
http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=58,E=0000000000096159817,K=7927,Sxi=15,useTemplate=Case.tem,CASE=10986

And lastly, I know the serial/USB adaptors can be flakey so that could be
the culprit. Myotis uses a Palm with his XP laptop but it has a serial port.
I'm sure there are others out there with the same configuration you have,
and they'll have an easy answer for you.

Rich

all those fancy things needed for geocaching? SO far MY answer is "no." It
won't sync or communicate or whatever technical word it is I'm looking for.
I'm using the adapter USB cable that we use for the Garmin -- do I need a
different one? As of this moment I really have no idea what I'm talking
about -- I just don't want to waste any more time on this if someone can say
"Ain't gonna work."
