I'm not sure on accomodations, either. why not check travelocity or something?

As for caches, you've heard a lot of good ideas. I can't think of any local caches that are in poison ivy areas. Obviously, PI is out there, but just don't bother with vines and you should be fine.

Don't know about accomodations. We always stay with family. But there are several no poison ivy caches. Any of the University caches. Ag Park, Cagney's Footwash, Summer Journal, Steeple Chase, I forget the name of Ooga Boogo and Tangerines that had to do with the school of Journalism. Beetle Bailey is a good winter cache. Most of the one's in town seem to be PI free. If you do Finger Lakes (NOT recommended in this weather! read LOTS of hills) don't grab the trees, they have PI vines on them :).
