Doesn't everyone eat roadkill? Heck, when I was driving a Ripley County backroad with with a friend from St. Louis recently (who after three years of spending a lot of time with me is still not sure what to think of the old hillbilly), we hit a deer with the Jeep. I had to make some quick side-of-the-road repairs to keep the thing running. We turned around to check out the condition of the deer. It was quite dead. While we were stopped, a couple four-wheel-drives pulled up beside us. Being only about 7 p.m. the kids in the rigs weren't quite as drunk as they would be later on in the evening (what else is there to do in rural Ripley County 'cept 4-wheel and drink?...well, I take that back. One of the drivers had his girfriend...so I guess...well...). Anyway, they jumped out, checked out the deer, and without even asking threw the deer in the back of the Jeep. The moral of this rambling...in the hills and hollers of the Ozarks eating roadkill is as natural as marrying your cousin!
