When does this event need to take place? The geocoin community are having a
whole bunch of mini Geocoin Fests on October 6th in at least 18 states and
several other countries. Could this "unveiling" be held in conjunction with
those events or must it be sooner (or later...)? Is this going to really be a
geocoin event or a CCC event? I guess a bit more info would be useful...

I was asked if it would be possible for someone to host and event in STL
to unveil and present a new geocoin in honor of all the guys and gals
that served in the CCC back in the day. The presentation should be done
at the CCC headquarters. Go here to see more about the CCC.
http://www.cccalumni.org/index.html
and
http://www.americanprofile.com/article/5333.html
If you go into any state or federal park or forest, you will see work
done by the CCC back in "the old days". Bridges, fish hatcheries, all
sorts of other buildings were made by the CCC.
Q. Why St. Louis?
A. Because the CCC alumni assoc and museum is headquartered in STL at 16
Hancock Avenue in Jefferson Barracks.
One side of the coin will look like the image at the top of the
CCCalumni page. The back side is still being worked on.
There is still alot still to be done. Permission to use the emblem is
one of the things that is still being worked out and the actual
production of the coin. I don't think there is a timetable for the event.
Who is behind this? A cacher named genegene is working on the coin
design and it's production. The problem is that he lives too far away to
organize or be at the presentation event. That is why he is asking for
our help.
If anyone has an interest in Geocoins, the CCC, history or would just
like to help have an event. This could be interesting.
Thanks,
glenn
