I had a dream.

It was Sat., Oct. 12th, the day of our fall
SLAGA picnic.

It is a beautiful fall day at ***** Park.
Everyone who said they would show up - does.
The display of food that everyone brought to
share looks so inviting that we all want to
start eating right away. But we know the day
is still young and events are planned that
will help work up an appetite.

The kids have built up so much energy in
anticipation of the Kid's Cache Hunt, that
it can't help but start ahead of schedule.
Some adults are scurring about to help
them work the GPSR and figure out the clues,
while others sit and chat about recent
caching adventures and look at old cache
log books and geocaching picture albums.

The BBQ grills are ready and the meat
is cooking. Everyone gathers around the picnic
tables and start to fill their plates. A little while
later, there are some formal introductions, some
recognition of achievements and awards presented.
The winners of the raffle are determined and
awards handed out.

Some people find a nice shady tree to take a
nap, but the kids seems to keep on playing
catch and throwing frisbees with no end in
sight. People start to gather to discuss the
placement of the picnic cache, while others
find comrades to head out and find some
caches in the area they haven't found yet.

The sun now sets on a few die-hard cachers
who are debating whether or not chiggers
exists, and who will be the next one to reach
1,000 finds.

I woke up from the dream with a sense
of determination that all that transpired is
easily within the realm of reality of we
all want it to happen. At the very least,
it happened for me ... in my dream.
