Bernie,

I have a Dell Axim X50 that I have had for about 1 1/2 years now and I use it
for work, geocaching, word documents, excel spreadsheets, calender
appointments, phone number database and even some gaming. The one I have has
416Mhz processor speed, 64 MB RAM, 64MB ROM. It has both Compact Flash card
and SD card access slots so you can store lots of stuff on the cards. It has
worked great for me for everything I needed it for. The newer Dell version
Axim X51 of about the same size is selling for $239 on their web page. There
are faster ones available for more money. I have one of the Rhino cases for it
for when I go out geocaching. I really protects it great. I even fell when it
was on my belt, landed on the side that the PDA was on and rolled over on it
(and you know that I am not a light weight), scratched up the case pretty good
but the PDA was fine.
I like the fact that I can attach the PDA to the sync cable, go on GC.com and
when I have a cache page open I can click on the gpx download and download it
right to my PDA for my cachemate program. The only down side that I have found
is seeing what's on the screen when I am out in bright sunlight, sometimes I
have to turn and shade the screen with my hand or body to read it.

I almost hate to bring this up again, because it has been discussed
before. But, I need to purchase one now. I've decided to switch from Palm to
Pocket PC. What do you recommend and what are you using? What features are
a must? Bernie
