I used Plucker for awhile, but I was having chronic problems with it
lockingup on translation and locking up on the PDA as well. I switched to
iSilo. It isn't without problems either, but it has not locked up yet, so
theproblems are less critical in nature.

You can get one, brand new, for around 100.00. The thing about an old Palm
isthat it just doesn't have the memory. When you get a pocket query of 250
caches, you are looking at about 750K for the file. Old Palms tend to run
outof memory pretty quick. A Zire 31 can be found on Ebay or Amazon for
around 99.00 or so. They have 14 meg of usable memory and they are color.
Then you can load all the supporting apps such as Plucker, Geocalc, etc...
Ofcourse this is just my opinion. Some others will offer other solutions.
Mike Tired of Spam?? Here's your solution.. See:

Tuesday, January 09, 2007 9:27 AM Subject: [GeoStL] PDA for paperless
caching- I am just now looking into getting a PDA for paperless caching, but
don't want to spend alot of dinero for one. I am clueless to all the hi-tech
talking, too, when it comes to electronics. Is there anyone who is low tech
like me that has gone paperless? I have read numerous times that an old PDA,
maybe from ebay, like a Palm III would be just fine. Anyone have advice? I
amjust learning to work with GSAK too so I would appreciate the help.
