[GeoStL] Olympic Diving Trials: Related to St. Peters CITO

In my correspondence with the St. Peters volunteer specialist about Chris'
4/17 CITO, he asked me to ask the group the following:

Would anyone be interested in volunteering for the OLYMPIC diving trials,
to be held at the St. Peters Rec-Plex June 7 to June 12? This could be
either as a group or individually. Every diver who goes to the Olympics
will be at this event. There's not a lot of buzz about it right now, except
in St. Peters, but it's going to be a huge deal. It's one of only a few
Olympic trials being televised by NBC.

I've already signed up to work several shifts. Sam (volunteer guy) seems
to be extremely well organized and efficient. He has told us that he will
try his best to give us the assignments we request-we're supposed to pick a
first, second and third choice. The choices are things like parking,
ushering, security, checkin, etc. The shifts are 5 and 1/2 hours long and
on most days there is a morning and an afternoon/evening shift. Each
volunteer is required to work at least 2 shifts during the week.

There's no guarantee that you would actually get to see an event-it would
depend on which kind of job you ended up with. But if you do get the chance
to watch-WOW. I've seen every national diving event at the Rec-Plex so far.
Diving from those big platforms or the springboards is cool enough on TV,
but it person it is unbelievable.

Let me know if you're interested or if you have questions. If we end up
with more than a couple volunteers, discuss amongst yourselves if we want to
be represented as a volunteer group from SLAGA, or just individuals. OK,
end of plug for the diving trials.

Thanks for reading,
Susan
