You said November but then you talk about the picnic. Did you mean September?
If it conflicts with the picnic, we should go to the picnic and blow off the
event.
I really don't think officers should be going anywhere but the annual SLAGA
meeting and you will most likely, not get anyone else at the Arch that day..
Just my 1/2 cent...

Nancy;
You had more information than we had. I met with the NPS early July to talk
about geocaching and having a display at the Nov. event. Initially they weren't
sure we would be a good fit because they didn't know what we did. There was
lots of preliminary work since they wanted to know our mission, if we had done
other programs such as this, and if so, when and where. Our credentials in this
area, along with our training classes, really impressed them. One of the
rangers and another lady there were familiar with caching too which helped a
lot.
At that time, and up until today, all I knew was the date of Nov. 27-28 (no
times), and our location on the arch grounds (In front of the south reflecting
pond) in the "Into the Woods" area and along side the Orienteering group. They
estimate about 2000 people for the weekend.
For those that have helped at other events, such as Klondike Days, Tiger
days, Busch Wildlife, WOW event, etc., it will be the same setup with a few
caches hid on the arch grounds (temporary) and a little 1 on 1 locating the
caches along with our handouts and answering questions.
Since the picnic is the same day and the officers and nominees should attend,
that leaves 5 of us for Saturday, so I hope we can get a fresh group for
Sunday. I'm not sure if 5 of us can handle everyone.
So with this fresh information, Steve will be sending out the Sept.
newsletter with the details.
Jim, according to our inventory page it says we have 1000 B&W brochures, Also
plenty of business cards. Are those quantities still accurate? If not we may
need to get more ordered by the end of Sept.

Didn't know that -- I guess it was more appropriate than I thought huh??
LOL
And, because of that and because I've been known to live life on the edge
.. and I'll take the risk of being accused of being a trouble maker, but I'll
ask .. how WOULD we have known that? Seriously. I know that everyone in
this group steps up in one way or another at one time or another to offer their
support as well as they can and to their ability, yet sometimes that is hard to
do if there's no notice. Maybe if I had more lunches ...

Actually Nancy, SLAGA will be there, we are putting on a Geocaching
exhibit there. RGS and Steve should have more info about it. Volunteers are
probably needed too.

This was passed along via a home school group.
While not specifically Geocaching, I still thought it appropriate for
here.
