It did take us 9.5 hours back in 2004. We were goofing off a lot, but Jim's
concern about long days (and tender feet) is well-taken.

While I would like people to do my Profitt MT cache, the 4.5 terrain rating
is well deserved. It is a beautiful area--but don't kid yourself it is a
strenuous hike that a large percentage of the people I know in SLAGA could
not do in one day. I do not think I could anymore. If you get snow or ice,
it would be even more difficult. And if I would try it in one day, I would
wait for longer days.
Jones Crew suggested St Joe State Park. But you might want to watch Channel
5 news tonight (I think at 10). They have not said where the state park is
but they are doing a story on a state park with unsafe levels of lead in it.
The promos for the story look like St. Joe and there are lots of mine
tailings in the park.
