Has anyone noticed the resolution of the new maps, at least in the STL area?
The maps have been updated to 2006 and 2007 but seem to be grainy when at the
max zoom level. Before at this detail they still seemed sharp and clear. One
thing that stands out is the images were taken in the summer as everything is
green and the trees seem to block areas that were visible before.
Another neat change in Google Earth though is all the 3D buildings in the
downtown area. Especially the new stadium, Union Station, Old courthouse,
Mercantile Bldg., and others are fully detailed from any angle. Most of the
other buildings are still represented as white cubes but are sized correctly.
