[GeoStL] Re: NGR-DSL/Cable

Bernie,

What speeds are you getting? I'm usually at 1.2-1.3 meg down and 350k up.
if you're running 98, you may need to tweak the RWIN value in the registry.
XP is configured correctly for broadband.

Obviously free dialup with DSL is a big plus and now SBC has added lots of
free local dialup numbers across the country. Another plus is SBC is adding
1000's of wi-fi hotspots at McDonalds, UPS stores, Barnes & Noble, and other
restraints and business and motels. Now thru April it's free to DSL
customers and after that it's $1.95/mo. I tried it at Barnes and Noble here
in Crestwood in the parking lot and was connected at 1.8 meg down.

If you need to tweak anything, look at www.dslreports.com. They also have a
good speedtest program that runs online.

Here's the link for the new local dialup numbers for SBC
