[GeoStL] Re: NGR-DSL/Cable

Bernie,
I also use SBC Global DSL here in Rosenberg, TX. The speed is nothing to
write home and brag about (at best about 320 kbps download speed, was only
159 kbps when I first signed on to SBC DSL in June 2002). Part of that is
that I know I am near the end of their maximum distance from a switch. Even
thought it is possible to have another telephone line based DSL broadband
such as AOL, the connection will be thru the same telephone line you
currently use, thus I expect that the speed would not likely improve, you
would be dealing with a different company other than SBC for customer
service, but if it required phone line work, the third party would be
sending SBC service persons to do the line checking or repair since the line
belongs to SBC. So where can we go, unfortunately NOWHERE I would guess. It
becomes a catch 22.

367 finds (224 in TX; 74 in TX; 49 in AR; 6 in PA; 5 in LA; 2 ea in CA' IL,
MI, OK: 1 in IN)
and looking forward to adding to MO finds while St. Charles, Webster Groves
over Christmas holidays. Also hoping I don't have to shovel 6 inches of that
solid precip off nyisutter's driveway like I had to do the last time I left
sunny and warm Texas Gulf country to spend Christmas in the frigid north.
