If you don't find a metal detector, you could use a trick from black water searching:


  1. get a long rope
  2. anchor one end
  3. use the rope as a guide and walk back and forth in a large arc
  4. each time you let out about 3 foot, then go back the other way
  5. that keeps you from missing an area
  6. works good when you lose something on a float trip too

     I have a rather odd question.  Do any of you have a metal detector I could borrow?
