Stephen,

Snopes has been around a LONG time.  Unless things have changed in the
past couple of years, all the work is done by a husband and wife.
They actually investigate the claims, whether it's by doing research
of news stories or directly calling people mentioned in the claim.

I trust them a lot more than Wikipedia.  However, I trust Wikipedia
more than a random email.
