- Our dalmatian had knee surgery. He was actually born with bad joints. His was on his rear leg. He had a bit of a recuperation period. I had to wrap a towel around his belly holding him up from the ends of the towel so he could move around. At least it is warm out. I had to do this in the middle of winter. I hope she comes through it well, and I hope she recovers quickly.... You andPam too. ha ha Tim wrote: - Just wanted to let you all know that Molly will have surgery today, Wednesday, May 3rd. She will probably come home on Thursday. They are going to cut a section of her knee socket off to flatten out the end of the bone. The ball is falling off the socket because she damaged it about three years ago when she fell. Then they will go place a metal plate--strategicallyplaced to straighten her leg. She will not be in a splint-- will just come home with stitches--no bandages. No activity for two weeks and then timed leashed walks after that. He will re-do the x-rays in 6 weeks to check to see that everything is okay. Will give you an update after we hear from the doctor that surgery went okay.
