- Thanks Glenn, that was probably me that mentioned that at the luncheon. I found out last night at the fish fry that it is still free and have successfully updated this morning. I had already ordered Panda for $39.99 with a $40 rebate(dang,I lost a penny), but was able to cancel my order this morning. Thanks Bernie. -----Original Message----- From: geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Glenn Sent: Saturday, January 06, 2007 7:33 AM To: SLAGA Subject: [GeoStL] NGR: Antivirus followup. - http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5 During lunch at the greek place yesterday it was mentioned that the popular antivirus program by Grisoft AVG was no longer going to be free. "Nope. still free" I said. I got to thinking and thought I had better check why everyone is saying that it will no longer be free. I remember the same thing happened when AVG changed from version 6.0 to 7. I checked around and the same thing is happening. They word their website in such a way that you would think that you have to purchase something. You don't. AVG is still free. What is happening is that version 7.1 is being discontinued. Version 7.5 is out and you need to upgrade to the new program. Of course they would like you to get the paid version and they make the free version page hard to find but the FREE version is available at the above link. There are other free anti virus products out there too Avast is one and it does a good job, people seem to like it. **************************************** For List Info or To make _ANY_ changes, including unsubscribing from this list, click -----> //www.freelists.org/list/geocaching Missouri Caches Scheduled to be Archived http://tinyurl.com/87cqw **************************************** For List Info or To make _ANY_ changes, including unsubscribing from this list, click -----> //www.freelists.org/list/geocaching Missouri Caches Scheduled to be Archived http://tinyurl.com/87cqw
