[GeoStL] MOGA2006 - Thoughts

Just wanted to share a few thoughts with the group
What a great time this year ....the event was well run and well attended.
Lots of caches to do and people to see and visit...the park is a great one and 
if you have never been there I highly recommend the river drive through Alton 
and along Hwy 100 ....cache along the way as there are a number of good caches 
to be had and sights to see.
My only regret  is that I did not manage to visit or meet as many people this 
year as I did at events past. Not being on staff seemed to not put me in 
contact with as many people. I met a number along the trail though and enjoyed 
visiting for a few minutes...actually it is surprising I got as much done as I 
did what with stopping and saying hi to people along the way.
However because I was not on staff I did get to compete and I joined the 
individual competition this year and managed to take 2nd place in the over 50 
category (:-O can I really be that old) just think I might have won had I not 
lost both my cell phone and my radio and had to backtrack a bit. But it was fun 
though completely exhausting. Thanks to Kevin of KTeam  for walking along with 
me and keeping me going 
A special thanks to my friend RockSusan for being my caching buddy over the 
weekend. As always we had a lot of fun and both of us got milestone caches 
....Susan found her 400th and I found my 700th

Great job to all those who organized the event and put in all the leg work and 
brain work to make this a great time.

And for those of you on the list that did not get to attend I just want to say 
you missed a great time and some great sights and I hope to catch you at other 
events or just along the trail sometime while caching.
