Ah, but here's the rub: in past years when this has happened, the 
archbishop at the time gave a dispensation (exception) for St. Pat's day.

This year, the a'bishop gave a dispensation for people having their 
corned beef & cabbage at a parish St. Pat's Day dinner, and only for 
those eating at sanctioned parish events.
So, if you're buying your food from your parish, you're fine, but not if 
you're fixin' it at home as a family St. Pat's dinner or at a restaurant 
or something.  Isn't that so nice & thoughtful of him?
