Congrats & good luck, Susan!
I also am in grad school at MU. Relocating wasn't an option for me,
though, so I commute back & forth. Usually stay overnight one night a
week during the semester. So far I've managed to schedule classes on
consecutive days, so that plan works out well.
I have an assistantship, but my mentor has been great, and I can do a
lot of my work from St. Louis, and the rest when I'm in Columbia but not
in class. Did the exercise phys dept tell you that you had to live in
Columbia? The commute from St. Pete isn't too bad once you get used to
it (I live even farther from Columbia than that), and you get a lot of
good thinking done, as well as a few caches along the way.
