I have a Custom POI file with over 10,000 WPs. I update it as needed
depending on the areas or what I am looking for. I am trying to compile a
custom POI file with all QT's in the US.

The waypoints/geocaches are stored in internal memory, hence the limit of
1000. But caches (from a GPX file or comma delimited file) can be loaded on
the MicroSD card so the only limit is the size of the card. They can be
stored as separate files too, say by state)
