I think that the whole line of Etrex GPSr's have moderate to poor reception.
I have a friend who did a side by side comparison with the Etrex and
SportTrac and he said the Magellan was able to maintain sat lock continuosly
while the Etrex was in and out. Valleys seem to be the problem in most cases
but he even was able to keep sat lock under a shelter. Don't know if that is
valid but I do know with the 76S I maintain a better reception than I ever
did with the legend or vista.
