Hi Everyone:
I know we aren't ever able to make it anything "in real life", but since =
we feel as though we know you through emails or chatting or know that =
you live close or have friends in the area, we would like to "formally" =
invite you to our Hayride and Bonfire on Saturday, October 7 on =
Owensville, MO.
We used to have this party every year, but the last few years, life has =
gotten in the way and it was cancelled. It's back this year and we are =
(again) inviting everyone we know.
I realize there are several other things going on that day for SLAGA, =
BoyScouts etc, but if you're inclined to come out, you are welcome at =
any time!=20
There are no set rules. People are in and out most of the day. Come all =
day or for a few hours. Everyone is welcome to camp. We have a total of =
100 acres with space for a tent or camper anywhere you like -- near the =
party or alone in a field (we just don't allow fires away from the main =
bonfire). We have plenty of space near electric (or even not near if you =
have long enough extension cords), plenty of water available and we have =
a porta potty for the day. =20
Fee free to invite other friends along too; it makes the day more fun =
for you too. We get a bit hectic at times. There have been years when =
the weather looked bad and only 50 people came. Other years the weather =
WAS bad and there were 200+ people wandering around throughout the day. =
Some years the band alone brings 20 people. =20
Food and Drink: We make 6-7 crock-pot of various things (sloppy joes; =
chicken and dumplings; soups etc) People normally bring a crackpot or =
bowl (salads etc) and it all winds up in the barn. We get one half =
barrel of beer, several cases of soda and for anything else -- you're =
on your own.=20
It's a great day for kids. We have a few fishing poles but you can bring =
your own (we have one 3 acre lake and several claypits); bikes; lawn =
games; etc. Our potato gun person didn't show for the last hayride and =
it was sorely missed. We've decided this does not fall under the "No =
Weapons" category. LOL
We enforce a strict "No Pets" policy, but there's been a vote in this =
house and that does not apply to Molly. Molly IS welcome! We always =
tell people not to bring their dogs, because if we don't spell it out =
for them, they will. Most, 99% are not well behaved animals, but then =
again neither are their owners -- yet we have to invite them because =
they are all related to Tom.=20
Again, you all are welcome at any time during the day (or evening).=20
The coordinates are at the top of the jpg. If you google earth us, we =
do NOT own that big lake to the left (unfortunately).=20
I've sent to this specifically to a few geocachers but I'm sure I've =
also missed a few. It's not that they are NOT invited, it's that we =
wanted to make sure that you all ARE invited (unless you are the person =
who thought it was a good idea to try and nominate me for an office -- =
in that case we need to talk! LOL)
