I believe Sir Wally, the regional forest supervisor, is in charge of:
Rockwoods reservation, rockwoods range, Forest 44, powder valley, pacific
palisades, Catawissa area, Engel man area, jay henges range and bush's
wildlife area.

He can be reached at:
2751 Glencoe Road
314-458-2236

His office could give us the complete list of the names of the supervisors
of all the other areas.

He was exceedingly nice when I spoke with him about the picnic cache issue.
His understanding of the whole caching issue is that: At that time, nobody
had told him what to do about caching so he could not approve anything BUT
he would send a letter up the chain of command to see what we could
discover. I don't think anyone has raised the issue, so he had no official
guidance. I think once we start things with them it may still take a while
to get something resolved. I was going to mention all of the agencies that
HAVE signed on to the caching thing. The forest serv, the city of Crestwood,
the Boy scout reservation mentioned on the "agents" cache page, also the
state park, also from "agents" . I had the official state police from
Nebraska (I think) that was favorable toward caching also.. I was going to
gather all of the positive references I could find to support our position
before I went back out there.

Did that answer your question?

Glenn

What areas are he responsible for and where can we get a contact
list of other 'urban foresters' for the other conservation areas?

For instance, I will be archiving Happy Yellow soon and there
are some trails on the other side of Hiway 109 from Rockwood Reservation
called Turkey Run (or something like that). I'd like to put a short-term
cache there. I don't think there are any big holes to fall into on those
trails and I think they could use some more exposure to the public.

Think Wally would want to walk the trails with me and find a spot? It
wouldn't have to be too far off the trail. Of course, I reserve the
right to make it a multi-cache where you have to convert to UTM, Hex,
add, subtract numbers, get a bearing, determine a lock combination,
find a key and look through holes in rocks to find the cache.
