- The SLAGA officers have brought this event to the membership's attention several times. We can not make members attend an event if they don't want to. If some members step up and say they will help then SLAGA will have a booth if no one steps up to help then SLAGA will not have a booth there. I agree it would be nice for SLAGA to have a booth but if no one will set it up then so be it. If SLAGA is not going to be there then who ever told them we will need to let him know that SLAGA won't be there. His email is oldplc@xxxxxxxx I figured it was up to the officers to decide if SLAGA was going to participate and to put it out to the members. Let me make this clear, this is NOT me and Mike's booth or event. Tiger Day is a Boy Scout Council event for Tiger Cubs (7-8 yr olds) and their families where different organizations have a "booth" with either a hands on activity and/or information about their group. I was the chairperson in charge of Tiger Day for 4 years. Last year the chairman was Phil Chandler who will be the chairperson for the next 2 years. Usually the position tenure is 3 years. SLAGA has had a booth at Tiger Day for the past 4 years. Tiger Day is always on the first weekend in June at Beaumont Scout Reservation off of Antire Rd & I44. I hope this answers everyone's questions. If SLAGA is not going to have a booth, someone needs to let Phil Chandler know ASAP because he plans this out with pavilions and space allocated to each group exhibitor. The new chairman, Phil Chandler, is hoping that SLAGA will come out and participate. It is always the first weekend in June, which is June 3rd. It starts at 10am and goes until approx 3pm. A hotdog lunch is usually provided by BSA. Mike and I will be on our vacation during that time. I really hope that SLAGA participates in this. We always recruit a couple families to geocaching, and I wouldn't be surprised is some families there are already cachers! I have copied Phil Chandler with this email so that you can communicate with him and vise versa if needed.
