To everyone interested in the Caveman Zipline at Meramec Caverns, here's the
final details:
The date will be Sat., July 31st, and meet in the Meramec Caverns parking lot
at 9AM with the first group of 10 leaving at 9:30AM and the rest at 10AM. The
majority could go either date. But July 31st won out for those able to go just
one of the 2 dates. Since there are maybe 4 that can't make the 31st, and
others can't make either but wants to go, that means another event for this
summer is possible with just another 5 or 6 signups. It will not need to be on
Aug. 7th.
I'll put up the cache page this weekend and those that are going should log a
"will attend". Again, there will be no reference to this ride costing $25 each.
I need to have the deposit (50%) at the time of making the reservation, which I
plan on doing on Wed. July. 7th and drive down to set it up. On the day of the
ride the other 1/2 needs to be paid in one payment or check. So for that
reason, I'd like the total amount of $25 each up front, with 1/2 for the
deposit and the other when we ride. If you give me the $25 and can't make it,
you'll lose the deposit ($12.50) but I'll give you the remaining $12.50 back.
You won't lose that money. So, I'd like to set the deadline for logging the
cache page and having the money by Saturday, July. 3rd to take down on Wed.,
July 7th.
Obviously if we get some that back out and decide not to go, and our group
drops below 10 by the time the deposit is due (July 7th), the event will be
cancelled.
For those that don't make the deadline or decide at the last minute to come
down, you will be able go on the ride with the group, but it will cost the $49
for adults and $39 for kids 10-12.
It's on, rain or shine unless the ride is closed for severe weather, and we'll
get our deposit back.
