Well from reading the article you could see that
attitude. They do NOT want to dig anything up as it
would cost them too much money. Especially if it
involves moving any part of the memorial. It looks to
me like they made a token effort but were never really
serious about it. If they really wanted to find it
they could bring in some big metal detectors...the
capsule was described as a copper box....you would be
able to pick that up 4' down or more with the right
equipment. Also ground penetration radar or a proton
magnetometer would give decent readings though they
are far from conclusive. Interesting article though
...I did not know that this place existed.
