- Just because it is listed doesn't mean you have to go find it. Just skip those placed in playgrounds. -----Original Message----- From: geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:geocaching-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Bensman Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2005 1:09 PM To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [GeoStL] Caches in kids playgrounds - Lately I have been feeling very frustrated with caches being placed in kids playgrounds, particularly busy ones. There are a couple I have gone to 3 times and have not been able to hunt the caches with kids playing on the toys. There is even one by me that the directions indicate you have to climb up on the kids toys to get the cache. If you go hunting those caches when the kids are there (which is most of the time) you are likely to get the cops called on you as a child molester or something like that. You are usually told the area is busy so you need to be discrete. How can someone without a little kid with them be discrete? It seems to me a cache should not be placed in a location that is not reasonably accessible most of the time. When you look at these cache pages you see lots of comments about the problems with the kids, but the owners do not seem to get it. What is the best way to deal with a cache in a kid's playground? I think there needs to be a rule not allowing a cache in a children's playground. I also think if you need to be discrete to retrieve a cache, it is likely not in a good location.
