Don't forget one of the old-time caches out here in Columbia - Katy Trail
174 (GC3C8), which is right along the river. And of course Harley Over
Missouri that nyisutter mentioned as well...

Here are the 2 biggies in in our area. There would be countless
opportunities to place caches west along the MO river, which was their
route:
a.. Lewis & Clark Cache # 2 by Myotis GC6140 (spot they camped at the
winter before the expedition started)
b.. Frontier St. Charles by Goshhawk GC74ED (official starting point of
journey)
I don't see any more details on line than the single page listed above.
