[GeoStL] Re: CSx60 vs Cx60 vs CSx76

When you turn off the electric compass on the 60 CSx, does the altimeter stay
on, or are the two connected?
Also, if you have one, or are considering one, how much memory would you look
for in the Micro SD card; one or two gig?

Mike,

I don't have any of those units, but here's my opinion.

I have the legend B&W and a LegendCx, both having "non electronic" compass.
I have no problem with it and don't have to calibrate often like some of the
owners seem to need to do. I know whenever the batteries are changed, it
MUST be recalibrated. But, it can be tuned off too and then works like the
non "s" units. If I were going to buy one, it would be the 60Cx, unless
there were just a few dollars difference.

As far as the 76, it has the same sirf chip but a slightly larger screen and
case, and the button layout is a little different. The antenna does not
stick out of the top of the case either. It also seems to have a more
metallic case than the rubberized 60 series. I know LeRoy has one and really
likes it.
