I was beginning to wonder if I'd actually posted that..
I'd sorta hate to see the cache get archived. I was impressed with how
peaceful the location is (sans visitors), and the cache is in a good
location. Except that experience sort of wiped out my recollection of
what the cache itself is actually like.<g>
I was hoping that someone from Mt. Olive might come back and say
something about it, but they haven't - not to me at any rate (I
mentioned the encounter in my log - lightly). I *think* the gentleman I
met owns the classic car sales lot a bit south of the cemetery. He did
mention that he was once the unofficial caretaker of the cemetery.
Much of what he said was reasonable (hunters trespassing, drinking
parties, vandalism) and I suppose I might had stuck up a bit for
caching, but I did feel a bit pinned down at the time. A regret I have
is not taking a picture as he approached..
I wonder how he knew about the cache? Previous encounter with a cacher?

Last week Geo Jim described a tense encounter with an unfriendly landowner
while hunting the Chapman's Ball (GCKBKH) geocache. I was surprised at the
lack of comments in this forum. My question is this: given the possibility
that future visitors could be subjected to verbal abuse and even physical
violence, doesn't it seem prudent to consider archiving this cache? I'd like
to hear your thoughts.

"Pretty easy find and a nice peaceful place. Thanks for the cache!
One of the local landowners came by and told me how he doesn't much care for
hunters on his land, people drinking back there and "geo-catchers". I just
nodded and said, "Yeah.." at the right times. And thought of "Deliverance"
as I tried to hide my 'Geocaching 101' tee shirt.."
