I sent my Vista back two different times over the years that I banged it
around for the same lose gasket reason. I also sent my street pilot
back once because i drowned it in the 11 point river. In all cases they
sent me new ones in a new package.
I tried to see if i could send JoAnna back once. They said they could
not do those kind of exchanges. :-)

seems to be a common problem. My eTrex Vista has done the same thing and i
noticed at the picnic that there were several others like it. Let me know how
Garmin responds to the call.
on another note; the new high sensitivity chip Garmins are finally shipping. I
have one en route (shipped out today after 2 months of back order). I can't
wait to write a review for the group. Anyone want a slightly used Garmin eTrex
Vista with a loose gasket? priced to sell, operators are standing by, offer
good while supply lasts, Jerry Mathers is the Beaver 8^)

Speaking of Garmin Support, what's their policy on the rubber gasket coming
loose? Is that a simple part, or a replacement of the whole unit? Just so I
know before I call. The glue has loosened all around and the gasket itself
looks and feels too long. It's particularly loose near the top.

What's Garmin's number? I have an eTrex that thinks it's 1924 and I
can't figure out how to get it to change (yes, I've left it one with
clear
view of satellites for over two hours, I've changed the batteries, and
I've
done a hard reset).
Everything I hear about them is good, and this story adds another
chapter to it, so I'd like to put them up to the test.
