No kidding. I'm already on my fourth (first 3 burned out due to an
overvoltage from an authentic Garmin car adapter.) and when I get back form
VA I guess I'll call and have them replace this one too, making 5 for the
price of one. If they can make them new and refurbished for an average of
$20, great... otherwise, they might want to get their quality controls
removed.
Quality control: Prevention of quality from getting out of hand. Generally
considered unwise as quality should be allowed to run rampant. Exceptions
include computer hardware and software, as well as some government agencies.
