[GeoStL] Re: Advice requested

- Submitted in humility as MY opinion on this.

I feel just the opposite. It's only a game but no one is a "real" winner with a trophy or money, so if he needs 1 more find that bad, let him have it. Now if he said something derogatory or gave something away in the log, then I'd delete it and tell him why.
Moral relativism just doesn't work no matter what is at stake. The guy needs to learn to deal with reality and put this in perspective. Living a lie may be his choice, but it is your choice whether you become an accomplice. My personal choice is that I don't want to be his accomplice. If it were my son trying to do the same thing, it would not matter why he was trying to do that. I would counsel him to accept the disappointment without bitterness and move on. After all, life IS a "game", and it isn't about winning or losing, it is how you play the game and deal with the disappointments and adversity along the way. This guy may not be my son, but I would not feel like I would have a clear conscience if I treated him with less respect than I would give my son. That is a reflection on MY integrity.

Bruce, where would he have to come from to drive 10,000 miles to get here (besides in circles)? :-)
Probably a race car that drives on an oval track. The right side tires are bigger than the left. You have to drive it in circles ;-)

That is an agressive, in-yer-face, don'tcarewhatyouthinkI'mgonnalogitanywaynomatterwhatyousay kind of log. I say delete it if you want to. Looks like our group from St. Loo were the last ones to succesfully find it & it WAS there.

Nope... I don't care if you drive 10,000 miles if you don't find it
you don't log it as a find.
