[GeoStL] Re: Advice requested

I find it interesting when some one posts a message stating they found where
the site of the cache was and claim it as a find. Ok so the cache was missing.
There is no log to sign and it isn't a virtual. If you did not find a cache,
you did not find a cache.(duh)
If in fact we could log a find for eveery location where we found the place it
should be but found no cache I would have about 50 more finds than I do. For
instance I finally found where the Golden Penny Cache was supposed to be but it
had already been removed and archived before I found it (my fault...old
paperwork without looking on site for a while.) I did not go looking for the
page and try to log my find. I found exactly where the cache had been based
upon where I might have placed a cache had I been so inclined to do so. Then
there is the Jayhawk fun cache that took me five or six tries and several hints
before I realized just how stupid I really am.
Handicapped or not. I wouldn't allow it prior to receiving an e-mail as a
common courtesy. I recently had someone log a find on one of my archived
caches. I am allowing it because the container had not been retrieved as of
that date. there again my fault. the missing container in question with the
cache in question is not neccesarily the fault of the owner. Here again a look
at the page prior to going out looking for it would have saved a wasted trip to
begin with.
