Or here is the place most people forget they have, click on your start button, 
go to Programs, Accessories, System Tools and open Character Map.  This is 
provided on all Micosoft operating systems (I think).

   Here?s one website I?ve used in the past for symbols including the degree 
symbol. It has a different number to use for the accent over the e.  I?ve never 
tried it on the laptop but just tried and can?t get it to work even using the 
fn button.  Must be doing something wrong.

  If you're going to spell Molé, please do it right. Otherwise, tnsl might be 
aright about the purrrrrree of kitty being next.

You can get the é (as in resumé or molé or fiancé by holding alt and typing the 
number 130 (note, you have to use the keypad, not the row of numbers above the 
letters. If you have a laptop, you may have to hold fn to access the keypad. 
Not sure if this trick works on Macs; it doesn't work on Linux.)
