Department of Environmental Biology and Wildlife Sciences, Cotton College
State University is happy to announce two talks by eminent wildlife and
conservation biologists-- Dr Amirtharaj Christy Williams and Dr Kashmira
Kakati.

1. Speaker: Dr Amirtharaj Christy Williams
Title: My life with elephants

Dr Christy will talk about elephant behaviour and ecology, from his initial
corridor surveys in the Garo Hills to his radio-collaring study of Asian
Elephants in the Rajaji National Park. He will also speak about
conservation issues of Asian rhinos and elephants across their range from
his 16 years as the Coordinator of the Asian Rhino and Elephant Action
Strategy (AREAS) with WWF-International.

2. Speaker: Dr Kashmira Kakati
Title: Lessons from the jungle

Dr Kashmira will talk about her field research on gibbons and
camera-trapping in Assam and Meghalaya.

Date: 24 October 2016
