Hint #1: Don't hi-jack someone's thread when you should, in fact, be starting a
new one of your own.
Hint #2: Search the gameprogrammer archives - There are tons of resources
mentioned in answer to the exact question that you seem to have forgotten to
actually ask.
Quality #1: Imagination (You need some creativity and ability to see the
finished product in your mind well before it gets there)
Quality #2: Originality (We don't need more of the same FPS shooter genre that
commerical outlets seem so intent on pushing at us...)
Stuff #1: Development Tools - There are high-quality free development tools
regardless of whatever platform/OS you are programming on. Search them out and
use them.
