It would be a good thing.

As to what it would be used for, I'm thinking about an encyclopedia of
game programming. Like, a page about "fractal terrain", explaining what
it is, how it can be done, why are fractals good in terrain generation,
etc. Or a page about "isometric view", what it means, what does it look
like, how to implement it.

And I'm on the same line with you on the security, as discussed on SDL
list. Basic registration is a minimum requirement.
