Hi,
Call me old fashioned, but I would probably do this if I wanted to try
out some canned sound samples :-
1) get latest version of SOX (for converting / altering / remix /
adding echo / etc to render the file fairly unrecognisable)
http://sox.sourceforge.net/
2) browse these samples, which have been in the public domain for 10
years or more (with the proviso of course that just being in public
domain does not mean they are license free / uncopyrighted) :

3) get something like winrar to open the .lha archives
Alternatively, Can't you just record some cool stuff on your mobile
phone and port it over ?
