thanks for all the replies. I will definitely try out that forums.indiegamer.com site for some artists. After searching it abit, a rough estimate in pricing seems to be anywhere from $10 to $300+ per character, depending on # of sprites, etc.

I found a 3D artist and a sound technician posting "help wanted" in the
indie game developer's forum (http://forums.indiegamer.com/)
Ask the professional with portfolios posted there and I'm sure you'll find
someone good and that fits your pocket.

I'm in need of some 2D graphic / sprite drawings for a game I am currently
developing. If I were to hire people to draw sprite graphics for about 10
characters, how much money should I expect to pay for this? Is there some
