[gameprogrammer] Query: drafting software

Hi list:

A little off the wall again, but i thought someone here might be able to
recommend a drafting app. We're looking at moving into the country in the
next 6-12 months, i want to tinker with some floorplans for a new house. I
don't need full-up dimensioned dwgs, altho i will later. What i want for
now is a package which will let me throw together some ideas, ideally with
textures & lighting, basically a 3D box-building kit. I already wasted some
time DLing "DesignWorkshop Lite", a crashprone, counterintuitive pox of a
drafting tool. 

Free is good, cheap is ok if someone already knows it works ok. I draw the
floorplans, then use the app to walk my wife thru them. I would actually
use Descent's Mission Builder, except it has no "outside".
