Ask most Canadians who follow this stuff, and they'll tell u about the 27%
softwood lumber tariffs the US imposed on Canadian lumber used to build US
houses. US did that at the urging of the US softwood lumber industry.
Canada went to US and WTO courts, won every time, and the duty is still
there. It's shut down an entire industry on Canada's West Coast, 10,000
folk out of work, /and/ made US houses cost more.

Or ask about the US duty on Honda engines made in a Honda plant in Canada
and imported to a Honda plant in the US. Or the total shutdown of live beef
imports, over a single case of BSE in Canada, compared to the non-shutdown
of US sources over /their/ single case.

Wonder how many US cits could correctly identify their country's largest
trading partner?
